I am excited to feature Carol Cantrell’s release, “Songs
of Zion”. I have known Carol for many years, and was blessed to
have ministered along with her on occasion while she and family lived in
Washington State. Carol’s heart is one of a true worshipper, as
evident by the anointed mantle that has been placed upon her. From the
upbeat of praise to bowing in worship of the Lord, “Songs of Zion”
includes all of it. This collection of songs will bring you closer to
Him.
The first song sample is entitled, “I Will Say
Of The Lord”. The shelter of the Most High God is clearly realized
in this uplifting praise offering. This song exemplifies Carol’s
meaningful song writing, along with her powerfully gifted voice.
I have chosen “My Soul Thirsts for God”, written
by the release’s producer, Marc Chopinsky. Carol sings to the Lord
through this worshipful song, obviously from the heart. I closed my eyes
and lifted my hands while listening to this great song of adoration
“This Year in Jerusalem”, is our third song
sample. Carol sings of God’s faithfulness and promises in this song,
written by Perry Trotter. I must say that this is one of my favorite
songs on the CD.
Carol is a true blessing to the Messianic movement,
not only because of her God-given talents, but also because of her
humble, transparent desire to serve the Lord. This CD is a must for your
collection.
Biography of Carol And Her Family
Ron and Carol Cantrell met and were married in 1973. They have just
celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary and have three children:
Heather-25 (married with 2 children), Michael-21 (born in Israel), and
Raquel -17, all raised in Israel. They have lived in Talpiot, Jerusalem
for over fifteen years.
From 1980 - 1984, Ron worked in Israel as a photojournalist in
Israel. He also was in Lebanon three times at the height of the 1982
war. Following these trips, he set out to present the truth of Israel’s
position in contrast to the way the media portrayed Israel’s actions
in Lebanon. Over the years, Ron has traveled extensively in the UK,
Europe and the USA speaking to various Christian and Jewish groups,
radio and TV, in an attempt to counter major world opinion regarding
Israel. Over the years, Ron was involved in various activities that
sought to bring attention to the plight of the Russian Jewish community.
Ron, Carol and their three children returned to Israel from the U.S.
in 1991, the year of the Gulf War, to work with Bridges for Peace.
Presently Ron is publication manager for Bridges for Peace and oversees
their 20-page, bi-monthly newspaper, books, and other publications
published by BFP. He regularly contributes articles for the newspaper,
website, and the extensive weekly Bridges for Peace email update
newsletter from Jerusalem. Bridges for Peace seek to provide Christians,
and all those who love Israel and the Jewish people, with truthful news
and informational tools in order to understand Israel’s situation more
accurately, as well as to pray for the peace of Jerusalem more
effectively. As a teacher of the Bible, Ron has the opportunity to teach
Christian groups that come to Israel.
In 1991, Ron and Carol worked about the “Exodus II” ship that
traveled to Odessa, Russia, with a team of Christians from Israel and
Israeli governmental officials, bringing Russian Jewish immigrants back
to Israel. This project has continued for the past eleven years,
bringing thousands of Russian Jews to their homeland. Bridges for Peace
continues to be actively involved in this effort by helping in practical
ways, both in the former Soviet Union and here in Israel. Bridges for
Peace has twice received the prestigious award from the Mayor of
Jerusalem for its social assistance to the poor of Israel and new
immigrants. They have the only Food Bank in Israel and often join with
Israeli governmental agencies in programs to aid the poor.
Over the past few years, Ron has authored three books: The Feasts of
the Lord, The Final Kingdom, and his newest release, Unholy War for an
Islamic Empire.
