I am blessed to introduce a CD
release, which I believe will be a must for your Messianic collection. A
few months ago, I was contacted by Dave and Goldie Winn regarding a CD
release that they had available. They call themselves Shir Shalom. We
get alot of CD’s sent to us, but after listening to this one, I had to
bring this to www.messianicmusic.com as
soon as possible. This couple is a blessing to the body, and this
release will fill your heart with the joy of the Lord.
They have a very simple, natural-sounding style,
which does not get in the way of the message that they sing. Their
professional musician past is evident in the performance of each song,
and the production is polished. I found the choice of songs on this
release to mesh together very well. There is a good variety of song
timbre, from "tender", to "clap your hands and
dance". Each song conveys the heart of the people singing, and the
message is loud and clear. No wonder Shir Shalom is well received
wherever they minister. I am told that this CD is especially popular
with unsaved Jews, which is a blessing since all of the songs are
scripture based.
I like many of the songs on this release, but I have
chosen three particular songs as my picks for song samples.
The first song sample is entitled "Bless The
Lord My Soul", written by Stuart Dauermann. This song has long
been one of my favorites, and the Winns bring forth the desire to do
exactly what Psalm 103 tells us to do! Get up, with all that is in
within us and praise Him! He looks after all of our needs and we should
praise Him all the days of our lives. This arrangement made my soul leap
for joy for the goodness of the Lord! Great cover of this song!
The second song sample is entitled "Rejoice
With Jerusalem", written by Lindy Frank. Taken from Isaiah 66
and Zechariah 8, this song exclaims the Lord’s plan for Jerusalem and
His chosen people. In the proclamation of the Lord’s eternal plan,
Dave and Goldie make you want to run out into the streets, dancing and
proclaiming Hashem’s plans. The scriptures come to life, and the
melody lingers in your heart. See what you think when you listen to this
one! WOW!
The third and final song sample is based upon Psalm
20, and is entitled "May The Lord Answer You", by Nina
Engen. This song captures what a great God we serve, and the heart of
this well quoted scripture, "May the Lord answer you in day of
trouble, may He fulfill all your purpose…We will rejoice in your
salvation." Read Psalm 20, and then listen to this song! These
scriptures are brought to life through the melody and wonderful
arrangement!
I have to say, there are a few who bring a special
excitement to their musical projects, and Shir Shalom is one of them.
You have got to add this CD to your collection!
